Golden, Revelstoke and Kamloops

Jim and I made a short trip across a portion of the Trans-Canadian Highway, which is a federal-provincial highway system that travels through all ten provinces of Canada.  The portion we traveled ran from Calgary, Alberta to Kamloops, British Columbia.  Jim needed to make a few sales calls in the Kamloops area, so I tagged along for the scenery and of course the golf!

Our trek took us through Banff, Golden, Glacier National Park, Rogers Pass, Revelstoke, Shuswap Lake and on into Kamloops.  Our first stop was in Revelstoke where we spent the night and played golf the next morning at Revelstoke Golf Course.  We "put up" at a little roadside inn called "The Swiss Chalet" where we met a lovely German couple from the Okanagan Valley.  Their names are Bridget and Chris Kupp.  Chris gave us a print of the original water-color of Mt. Revelstoke he had painted several years ago.  Very nice people.

After golf at Revelstoke, we continued on into Kamloops.  On the way there, we went through the Glacier National  Park and drove along the Shuswap Lake that ran for miles.....seriously we drove along the lake for an hour.  Very beautiful scenery.  This is where the Albertans and BCers go for "fun in the sun."

We spent a couple of days in Kamloops and were lucky enough to play the beautiful Tobiano Golf Course.  The terrain around Kamloops reminded us of the foothills of the Sandia Mountains in and around Albuquerque.

On our way home, we stopped for the night in Golden and played yet another fantastic mountain golf course.  The courses are lush and green and not a bit too easy!  It's pretty "sweet" to be able to take off and travel with Jim around the country.  What an experience!

Mid-September and most of the snow is gone in Glacier National Park.  But don't worry. Much, much more is on the way!

The (Not so) famous Swiss Chalet in Revelstoke, BC.

Me with Bridget and Chris Kupp.

Headed to the driving range at Revelstoke Golf Course.

Goats going to church.  About the only wildlife we saw on this trip.

I missed all those putts.........but the scenery was beautiful at Tobiano Golf  Course in Kamloops.

How about those shorts?

AMAZING fairways and FAST greens at Tobiano!

Getting ready to hit over the Grand Canyon......well, almost. The little guy on the right,
Matt, hit a 7-iron, 210 yards!

Jim hates this hat (mine).  What do you think?

Same shorts, same golf swing, different course....Golden Golf Club, Golden BC.

Background scenery on Golden Golf Course.  Not a lot different than the scenery at my usual Hermann Golf Course.... :)

Great restaurant in Golden.  Our B&B was just down the street....we could have walked there if we need to.  Just sayin'.

You guessed it!  Autumn is here and winter is a coming!
