Lake McDonald, Galcier National Park, MT

As we drove through Glacier National Park, we had a closer look at beautiful Lake McDonald. The same lake that we had seen from the ridge of the Apgar Trail the day before. We stopped at a historic lodge on the lake named, of course, "Lake McDonald Lodge," which was not yet open for the season. It reminds me of the lodge and cabins that were in the movie, "Dirty Dancing." It's very rustic but elegant. We met a kid from New York that was staying in our hotel who had come out for the summer to be one of the chefs in the Lodge's main dining room. He told us the staff lived on site and that they paid $9 a day for lodging and meals. What a deal!

Yup, we're from Texas. Winter on the top, summer on the bottom....flip flops

  1. You two chaps (or is it chapette for Candy) look so happy and we can see are having the time of your lives. So, can you tell me what the bright blue coloring is in the photo named, "Lake McDonald looking south again." I know you had an opportunity to look for bears on this trip, what about ominous fog creatures?

    1. Hi Janet! No bears or ominous fog creatures! LOL! Everything in that picture is either lake or mountains, so take your pick!
